The Origins of QHHT
Quantum Healing Hypnosis Technique was developed by Dolores Cannon, a hypnotherapist who spent more than 45 years researching altered states of consciousness, past-life regression, and the subconscious mind. Over decades of sessions, Cannon observed that when clients were guided into a sufficiently deep hypnotic state, they could access a level of awareness she came to call the Higher Self — a wiser, more expansive part of the psyche capable of answering questions and, in many cases, instigating physical healing.
QHHT is now practiced by trained facilitators around the world, each certified in Cannon's specific induction and questioning method.
How QHHT Works
Unlike stage hypnosis, QHHT does not involve anyone controlling your actions or making you do anything against your will. Instead, it uses a gradual, guided relaxation process to quiet the analytical conscious mind so the subconscious can come forward more clearly. Most clients remain aware throughout the process — many describe it less like "sleep" and more like a vivid, focused daydream.
Once in this relaxed state, the practitioner asks questions on your behalf, guiding the exploration toward whatever is most relevant: scenes from a past life, formative memories, or a direct conversation with the subconscious about physical or emotional concerns.
The Three Parts of a Session
1. The Conversation
Every session begins with an in-depth conversation — often an hour or more — where you and your practitioner discuss your history, your questions, and what you're hoping to explore. This isn't small talk; it shapes the direction of the hypnosis that follows.
2. The Hypnosis and Regression
Next comes the guided relaxation and regression itself, typically lasting one to two hours. You'll be reclined and comfortable, guided step by step into a deeply relaxed state, and then guided through whatever scenes or memories emerge — often past lives, though not always.
3. The Subconscious and Healing Segment
In the final part of the session, the practitioner speaks directly with your subconscious — the part of you understood to hold answers about why certain patterns, relationships, or physical symptoms are present in your life, and what might help. Many clients report a felt shift by the end of this segment.
"The subconscious knows everything about the client... it will only give out information that will help and not hinder the person."
— a principle central to Dolores Cannon's original QHHT method
What You Might Experience
Every session is different, and there is no "correct" experience. Some clients see vivid, detailed scenes; others receive impressions, words, or a felt sense of knowing. Common experiences include:
- Vivid recall of what feels like a past-life scene
- A conversation-like exchange with an inner, wiser voice
- Emotional release or a sense of long-held tension softening
- Clarity or a direct answer to a long-standing question
- A calm, meditative state with impressions rather than pictures
You'll leave with an audio recording of your session, so you can revisit and reflect on what came through.
Common Misconceptions
"I'll be unconscious or lose control." Most clients remain aware and able to speak throughout — QHHT is closer to a deeply focused, relaxed state than sleep.
"It only works if you believe in past lives." Many clients approach QHHT with curiosity rather than certainty. The value of the experience often stands on its own, regardless of how you interpret it.
"It's a replacement for therapy or medical care." QHHT is a complementary practice, not a substitute for licensed medical, psychological, or psychiatric treatment.
Is QHHT Right for You?
QHHT tends to resonate most with people who are curious, open, and ready to explore their own mind without needing a guaranteed outcome. You don't need any experience with hypnosis or meditation — the process is designed to guide you gently, one step at a time.
If you're feeling called to explore, the next step is simply to reach out and ask questions before booking.
QHHT is generally not recommended for anyone under 18, currently under the influence of drugs or alcohol, or in an active mental health crisis. If you have a diagnosed mental health condition, reach out before booking so we can make sure it's a good fit — a free discovery call is available for exactly this kind of question.
